Acute Well Being - Unity -Freedom

A sense of well being is a natural attribute of peak performance experience. Are you yet experiencing and maintaining the experiencing NOW?

In sport and performance there are many levels. A union of m ind and body.A sense of oneness with one's teammates/fellow players. A feeling of  unity with the cosmos, and experiencing of  inner unity is the apex of the sports or performance experience for many participants. Do you experience and know how to continually maintain this sense of unifying experience.

Have you ever experienced in your life such a condition that your mind and body worked as one?

A time your limbs react as your mind was thinking ... a state of being in total control, which resulted in absolute freedom.
Is the feeling of freedom a constant factoring in your sport of performance YET?

Power/Control

At it's fullest, the feeling of being in control is a unifying experience involving the peak athlete's/performer's entire sense of self, the environment and even his/her destiny.

Have you ever achieved and are you maintaining a sense of self-mastery and power among the supreme rewards of performing excellence?

Matter of Grace

The purpose of surrender in sport and performance is not to diminish one's self but to achieve a level of functioning otherwise impossible.

Do you recognize the importance of not acting deliberately during your peak moments ... aware the conscious thought must be in abeyance?

Do you know that being in perfect control of the puck, the bat, the ice, the ball, the water, the performance may be more a matter of grace than of will and that one can only " do it" by letting go, by letting something else take over.

Does it take YOUR breath away?

There is a certain point of unity within the self and it's world, a certain harmony, that conscious mind and will can not direct. Perhaps analysis and separate mastery of each element are required before the instincts are ready to assume command, but only at first.

It's called command by instinct.

It's swifter, subtler, deeper, more accurate, more in touch with reality than command by the conscious mind. And it's discovery takes one's breath away. As an athlete/performer have you made this discovery yet?

And if so, are you continually connecting to it NOW?

Inner Secret

An open secret at the heart of sport and performance is known as the state where one does not have to plan how to act, instead, one lets the appropriate responses happen to themselves. This has been described by philosopher Michael Novak as "One of the great inner secrets of sports".
